so, i now have a livejournal. it’s called “character assassination attempt” (aka beercoaster). there’s not much there, and that likely won’t change, since i have this journal (which is already syndicated there — userinfolobolicious).

i have it so i can read “friends only” stuff and be on friends lists and such. yes.

so, if you have a livejournal, you should add beercoaster and/or userinfolobolicious, so i can read your stuff and you can read mine without coming to this site directly.

or something like that.

i’ve been playing with the site, making it look more uniform. adding plugins and whatnot as well. check out the old entertainment page…it now fits in with the rest of the site. i also added rss feeds from liz and some other folks, so now you (and i) can easily get access to the newest posts on sites i read regularly. this is thanks to the mt-rssfeed plugin. i haven’t played with it much yet, but i’m hoping there’s a way to make it show at least an excerpt of the post (rather than just the titles), similar to the “friends” page on livejournal. we’ll see.

i added 2 more authors to this journal (“Lobo” and “Scumdog Steev”). of course, they’re both me, so who i post as will likely depend on my mood. actually, it may end up being pointless, since i created the “Lobo” author about 2 weeks ago and haven’t used “him” yet. i’ll probably also add an author named “Steev.” we’ll see.

just wanted to let you know that anything written here is by the same person (me), regardless of the by-line for a specific post. not that anyone reads this anyway.

i noticed today that i doodle a lot in the margins (and sometimes, not in the margins) of my notebooks at school. so, i decided to start scanning my doodles. i’m going to go back through all of my college notes, and maybe back through my high school stuff (not sure which, if any, notes from h.s. i still have) and scan the doodles. yes indeed. this also gives me an opportunity to play with the “categories” option in movabletype. i also added some nifty plugins (such as the one under “other” in the left bar on the main page that shows the current world population. i’m going to modify it to show the current u.s. national debt, if i can figure out how…shouldn’t be too bad, i think). mt-plugins.org has all sorts of plugins, many of which i don’t really understand what they do. i’ll be adding some more in the next few days/weeks, though…

playing with the site. a while back, i noticed from liz’s journal that LiveJournal users all have “icons.” anyway, that’s what gave me the idea of putting the picture in the upper-left of the main page (originally, it was next to my journal’s title). one of liz’s friends just made her a bunch of new icons, so i did the same for myself today. since i’m too lazy to figure out a way to pick an icon for each post, as i believe livejournal allows you to do, i instead made the main page randomly display one of my icons each time the page is hit/refreshed. so, yeah. there are 13 right now, 11 of which are me, one of which is a big $, and the other of which is donald pleasence from Halloween.

other than that, not much else is going on. just school. yesterday’s homework was insanely hard. well, compared to the rest of what we’ve done. the question was poorly worded, and when the instructor showed us the solution today, he had made many assumptions about the problem that weren’t in the problem statement. sure, we could have made those assumptions as well, because they make the problem easier to solve, but since none of us (i think) have any experience with this sort of crap (at least not using this software) and the book is no help, i don’t know how we were supposed to know which simplifying assumptions to make.

alas.
