today is the 4th anniversary of my first date with liz. four years, and she’s not tired of me yet.

we’ve also been engaged for one year now. i’m happier than i’ve ever been and i can’t imagine life without her.

i love you, liz. thank you for being with me.

at the radio station today (i’m doing a playlist (also known as LAME CRAP) shift as well as the show on monday nights), i played a song by a band called “Tomahawk,” that i’d never heard before. unlike most of the rest of the playlist, it was good. i thought, “hrm…this sounds like mike patton singing.” i checked the cd, and i was right.

that, of course, means i’ll have to buy the album (it’s called Mit Gas). they have another album, which is self-titled. both are available on Ipecac Recordings, the same label that Fantômas, one of patton’s other bands, is on. i like to think of myself as a fan of mike patton, since Faith No More is one of my all time favorite bands, but i don’t have too much of his non-FNM stuff. i have Fantômas, the self-titled release by that band, as well as The Director’s Cut, their other album (which is an immensely excellent album). i have one of Mr. Bungle’s albums, Disco Volante, but none of their other stuff. i don’t even have any of patton’s solo stuff (his solo records are Adult Themes for Voice and Pranzo Oltranzista…i’m listing them here to remind me of the titles the next time i’m looking for an album to buy).

yeah, mike patton is fucking cool.

today, i bought another book for my dad since he had one of them that i bought him for fathers’ day. this one is A Tour of the Calculus by David Berlinski, the same author who wrote the Newton book. i’m pretty sure he doesn’t have it. we’ll see.

my class is lame. only one week left, then a week off, then another class, also from 8am-10am. the prof. told us yesterday that there will only be one other exam, the final. there were supposed to be 2 exams + the final. oh well, i did well on the first one, so that’s one less thing to worry about. yeah.

check out this cute picture of liz from July 25, 1981:

Little Liz

i wish i could have known her as a little kid. oh well, i guess i’ll have to make up for it by knowing her for the rest of our lives.

i love you, liz.
